BOSTON – The Boston University women's ice hockey team has announced its leadership group for the upcoming 2023-24 season as graduate student Nadia Mattivi and senior Madison Cardaci will serve as captains and seniors Lacey Martin and Catherine Foulem will be assistant captains.
Mattivi returns as captain while Cardaci has been elevated to captain after serving as an assistant with Martin in 2022-23.
"I couldn't be more proud to announce our captains for the 2023-24 season," said first-year head coach Tara Watchorn. "They are true professionals who take great pride in what we do here at Boston University. Nadia, Madison, Lacey and Catherine's passion and commitment for our program is truly special and they are all amazingly talented young women who help push this team forward every day. I am so excited to get to work with them to help represent the future of this program."
A member of the Italian national team, Mattivi is back for a fifth year and has totaled 46 points on 14 goals and 32 assists thus far in her career. The defender set career highs in both goals (6) and assists (11) during the 2022-23 season.
