BOSTON - In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Agganis Arena, Boston's premier midsize sports and entertainment venue, is excited to unveil a series of major upgrades aimed at elevating the guest experience.
Since its opening in January 2005, Agganis Arena has been the proud home of the five-time NCAA champion Boston University men's ice hockey team and has hosted millions of guests for sporting events, concerts and family shows.
As the Arena looks ahead, these enhancements will elevate the venue, solidifying its status as a top destination for events, performances and sports. Here's a glimpse of what's in store:
Center Hung Upgrades
Introducing a state-of-the-art center hung display system, featuring high-definition screens and advanced video technology. This upgrade ensures that every seat in the house will have a crystal-clear view of live action. The new display features a 3.9mm pixel spacing to give the in-arena viewers better clarity and more high definition.
Cutting-Edge Bose Audio System
The audio experience is getting a major boost with a brand-new, high-resolution Bose sound system. Designed to deliver immersive, crystal-clear sound, the new system will enhance the auditory experience for concerts, family shows and all types of events, ensuring that every note is heard with unparalleled clarity.
Theatrical Lighting Overhaul
The venue's lighting system is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade. With the latest in Musco LED and smart lighting technology, Agganis Arena is set to offer one of the top light show experiences in all of college hockey. Expect vibrant colors, dramatic effects and an enhanced visual experience.
Refreshed Paint Scheme
In line with the commitment to modernizing the venue, Agganis Arena is also updating the paint scheme. By darkening the arena bowl, the venue is able to bring about a refreshed look with an unmatched TV broadcasting experience for those tuning in from home.
Advanced Ice Resurfacers
For its top-tier college hockey team, Agganis Arena is investing in top-of-the-line ice resurfacers called Engos. These new machines will ensure a perfectly smooth and pristine ice surface, enhancing both the experience of the student-athletes and the enjoyment of spectators. They are also an entirely electric fleet, cutting down on harmful emissions and putting emphasis on purified clean air for fans.
Seating Replacement
Agganis Arena is excited to announce the replacement of several hundred seats within the bowl. The upgraded seating will not only enhance comfort but also improve sightlines, making every event a more enjoyable experience.
Hobey Baker Banners
Agganis Arena's Hobey Baker banner has now been replaced by individual banners for each of our four winners as a gift from the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation. In addition, the Hockey East member schools have refreshed banners on the top of the arena's east side wall.
These upgrades represent a significant investment in the venue's future and the commitment to providing an exceptional experience for guests. Agganis Arena looks forward to welcoming both longtime and new guests while showcasing these exciting enhancements in the coming months.
