
Takai Posts Season Best in Opening Round of Low Country Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Junior Victoria Takai of the Boston University women's golf team shot a season-best 73 in the opening round of the Low Country Intercollegiate on Friday at Moss Creek Golf Club.
Takai posted three birdies and a pair of double bogeys to finish at 1-over and is in third place entering the second round. It marked her best round since a career-best 71 at the Yale Invitational two seasons ago.
The Terriers recorded a score of 312 in the opening round and are tied for fifth among the 16 participating teams.
Junior Christy Chen shot a 6-over 78 and is tied for 22nd while classmate Meiqi Gao was one shot behind with a 79 and is tied for 31st.
Freshman Hibiki Adachi provided BU's fourth score with an 82, putting her in a tie for 52nd in the 90-golfer field. Sophomore Annika Manjunath shot an opening-round 84.
Round two of the three-round tournament will take place on Saturday (March 16).
