June 12, 2024 | General
BOSTON - The Boston University Department of Athletics has hired Kyle Medolo as assistant athletic director for compliance, director of athletics Drew Marrochello announced Wednesday.
After spending the last two years at UMass Lowell as associate director of athletics for compliance, Medolo will be responsible for overseeing all matters of rules compliance and rules education for departmental and university staff.
"We are thrilled to add Kyle to our team here at BU," said Marrochello. "His experience at the Division I level will be beneficial to our entire department and we look forward to having him as part of our senior staff."
While with the River Hawks, Medolo monitored all aspects of compliance for 16 Division I athletic programs and served on the senior leadership team to assist with strategic planning. He also implemented departmental educational programming in relation to Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) activities.
Medolo returned to his alma mater after spending four years at Boston College as an assistant director of compliance. Duties included managing the athletic scholarship program and completing NCAA reports for graduation success rate (GSR) and academic progress rate (APR).
Prior to his time at BC, Medolo was a compliance coordinator at Northeastern for two years. With the Huskies, he developed department policy and staff compliance correspondence, and created educational sessions for student-athletes and staff on NCAA bylaws.
Medolo received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from UMass Lowell in May 2012 before completing his J.D. from the Northeastern School of Law in May 2017.
