Chen Paces Terriers on Opening Day of Red Bandanna Invitational

CANTON, Mass. - The Boston University women's golf team stands in fifth place after the first two rounds of the 2024 Red Bandanna Invitational at Blue Hill Country Club.
Senior Christy Chen stands at 5-over (75-74--149) after the first day, good for fourth place on the individual leaderboard. Classmate Victoria Takai is currently tied for 17th at plus-12 (77-79--156).
Just seven strokes behind second place, BU (+49) will look to move up the team leaderboard in the final round. Tournament host Boston College holds first place at plus-11.
Sophomore Amy Han shot two rounds of 80 and sits in a tie for 34th at plus-16 while junior Annika Manjunath is one stroke back in a tie for 37th at plus-17 (77-84--161). Sophomore Madison Takai is tied for 50th at plus-21 (82-83--165).
Playing as an individual, senior Meiqi Gao was one of the team's best performers on Monday, posting a 14-over 158 (80-78) to stand in a tie for 27th. Sophomore Hibiki Adachi - also playing an individual - followed up an opening-round 87 with an 81 and is in a tie for 61st at plus-24.
Tuesday's final round will start at 8:30 a.m. with the Terriers first taking the tee at 9:15 a.m.
