
Liu Selected as Patriot League Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Freshman Madison Liu of the Boston University women's tennis team was named the Patriot League player of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
Liu had a combined 3-0 record over the weekend, winning two singles matches and one doubles match. She posted a 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (2) win at line two against Stony Brook to help BU take a 2-0 lead. In the match. Her 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 1 singles spot against Colgate also helped the Terriers build to a 2-0 lead on their way to their first Patriot League win of the season in as many chances.
The freshman teamed with sophomore Blanka DeMicheli in doubles for both matches at line two. The pair defeated their Colgate opponents 6-1 to help BU earn the doubles point in that match. Liu and DeMicheli also led their Stony Brook opponents 4-3 before the match went unfinished.
Liu and the Terriers will play Saturday (March 1) in a match at Brown. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
