Women's Golf Sits in Second After Opening Round of Patriot League Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Boston University women's golf team posted a 310 (+22) in the opening round of the Patriot League Championship on Friday at Saucon Valley County Club and will enter the second round in second place.
Junior Annika Manjunath was the Terriers' top performer on Friday, carding a 1-over 73, putting her one shot off the lead. The Terriers will head into Saturday 18 strokes behind leader and defending champion Navy.
Senior Christy Chen is also in the top 10 as her 4-over 76 on Friday put her in eighth place.
Senior Victoria Takai (80) and sophomore Amy Han (81) also scored for BU and are currently tied for 11th and 14th, respectively.
Sophomore Madison Takai is tied for 18th after an opening-round 83 while classmate Hibiki Adachi is in 22nd after a score of 85 on Friday.
Manjunath parred every hole on the front nine before recording two birdies and three bogeys on the back nine. She was the best player in the field on Friday on par 4s, combining for a score of 2-under on them.
Chen and V. Takai also had two birdies on the day while Han and M. Takai had one each.
BU will start its second round on Saturday (April 19) at 10 a.m.
