Women’s Ice Hockey Drops 4-1 Result at No. 1 Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – The Boston University women's ice hockey team (0-2-0) fell to No. 1 Wisconsin (4-0-0) in a 4-1 decision on Friday night at La Bahn Arena.
BU struck first, with freshman Lo Lachapelle finding the back of the net on the power play to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead at the end of the first frame. Wisconsin answered with a power-play goal of its own in the second as the game was 1-1 after two periods. The Badgers took a 2-1 lead a little over halfway through the third and added an additional two goals to top BU, 4-1.
Lachapelle's goal was the first of her collegiate career. Freshman Eden Bergman and sophomore Tessa Demain assisted on the Lachapelle goal, with both of their points being their firsts of the season. Sophomore netminder Sydney Fogu made her first career start, saving 37 shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wisconsin went to the box for slashing at the 5:44 mark and the Badgers fended off the Terrier power play.
- The Badgers were assessed a major penalty for boarding at the 10:23 mark, giving BU a five-minute power play.
- A save from Fogu rebounded to Demain, who quickly collected the puck and passed to Bergman in the defensive end.
- Bergman found Lachapelle at center ice as the end of the power play was approaching.
- Lachapelle skated to the goal line and fired off a shot that went in at the far post to give BU a 1-0 lead with five seconds remaining on the extra skater advantage.
- The Terriers held their 1-0 lead headed into the first intermission.
- BU went on the penalty kill at 8:45 in the second frame due to a cross checking call.
- Wisconsin found the back of the net on the power play to even the score, 1-1, with 10:26 to go in the period.
- The game remained tied until 9:03 to go in the third when the Badgers took a 2-1 lead.
- Wisconsin then scored its third goal of the night at the 13:15 mark.
