Terriers to Conclude Home Schedule With Holy Cross Wednesday Night

BOSTON – Wrapping up the regular season home schedule, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Holy Cross at The Roof Wednesday night with the Turnpike Trophy matchup set for a 7 p.m. tip.
Both teams were on the road this past Sunday with the Terriers dropping a 70-67 decision at Lehigh and the Crusaders claiming a 72-63 victory over Bucknell. With two games left, BU has earned a first round bye for the start of next week's Patriot League tournament and is currently in fifth place, one game behind both Lehigh and American. The Crusaders are in a three-way tie for eighth at 5-11, just two games behind current No. 6 Loyola Maryland one behind No. 7 Lafayette.
In the the Turnpike Trophy all-sports competition, BU holds a 7-2 lead after the two departments split the men's and women's basketball doubleheader at Holy Cross back on Feb. 2. BU earned six other points via men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming & diving, field hockey and women's ice hockey.

- BU has won the last three games at Case Gym earning wins over Colgate (85-58), Bucknell (82-69) and Loyola Maryland (78-69).
- Junior Michael McNair leads BU at 16.8 ppg and is tied for No. 1 all-time in the program season record book alongside John Papale ('16) at 95 3-pointers.
- Sophomore Ben Defty is on track to shatter the school record shooting 68.1 percent from the field to average 14.6 ppg while leading BU in rebounds at 6.9 rpg.
- Freshman Chance Gladden (13.8 ppg) leads the Terriers at 4.8 apg for the highest average by a Terrier since 2013-14, while classmate Sam Hughes (9.7 ppg) is in need of seven 3-pointers to break the current BU rookie record of 70 3-pointers owned by Paul Seymour ('02).
- The Terriers are averaging 49.0 percent, which is just ahead of the current program record of 48.4 FG% held by the 1983-84 squad, along with 76.2 ppg. BU is holding opponents to 74.7 ppg and 46.4 FG%.
- The Crusaders are 4-12 on the road compared to their 6-7 home record at the Hart Center. In conference play, they are 2-6 away after the win over the Bison and an 84-73 victory at American back in January.
- Four Crusaders are averaging double figures in points with 6-foot-0 guard Tyler Boston leading the way at 13.7 ppg alongside 3.4 apg.
- 6-foot-6 wing Joe Nugent owns a team-high 48 3FGs to help edge 6-foot-6 wing Gabe Warren in ppg, 11.8-11.6, while 6-foot-7 forward Aiden Disu (10.7ppg) averages a team-high 5.2 rpg with 17 blocks.
- Overall, the Crusaders are averaging 68.2 ppg and 43.9 FG% while holding opponents to 73.0 ppg and 47.2 FG%.
- The Crusaders lead the all-time series, 62-30, in a rivalry that dates back to 1902-03.
- They have yet to meet in the Patriot League tourney after BU won the 1983 ECAC North title vs. Holy Cross at host Northeastern.
