Women’s Basketball Begins PL Tournament Against American in First Round

BOSTON – In search of its first Patriot League championship, the No. 8-seed Boston University women's basketball program opens the Patriot League Tournament with a first-round matchup against ninth-seeded American on Saturday (March 7). Opening tip from Case Gym is set for 2 p.m.
BU (10-19, 6-12 PL) won three of its five final regular season games to capture the No. 8-seed for the second consecutive season. The Terriers will host a postseason contest for the eighth straight year.
American (7-22, 5-13 PL) snapped a seven-game losing streak with a road victory at Lehigh on March 4. The Eagles are 5-10 all-time in Boston against the Terriers.
The winner of Saturday's matchup will face regular season champion Navy on Monday (March 9) at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
