Men’s Rowing Battles Northeastern For Arlett Cup on Saturday

BOSTON – Fresh off its first dual race victory of the spring, the Boston University men's rowing program is set for a clash with local rival Northeastern on Saturday (April 4) on the Charles River.
BU competes in its lone race on the Charles this year, marking the final official home contest for the class of 2026. The Huskies compete in their first race in Boston this spring as well.
Saturday's races will air live on ESPN+ with Wil Duchesneau (CAS'66) on the call. Live results are available on HereNow.

- 7:20 a.m. - Varsity 8
- 7:50 a.m. - Second Varsity 8

LAST TIME OUT
- BU swept Navy in its spring opener on March 29 in Princeton, N.J.
- The Terrier Varsity 8, ranked 14th in the IRCA/IRA Preseason Coaches Poll, finished over six seconds ahead of the No. 12-ranked Midshipmen.
- BU's three additional eights were victorious by at least four seconds and all under 5:56.
- The Huskies most recently competed in the Benderson Cup at the Sarasota 2K last weekend. The Varsity 8 placed fifth in a crowd that featured Washington, Harvard, Brown, Stanford and Yale.
- Northeastern's top crew has knocked off No. 6 Brown and No. 11 Penn in dual races while falling to No. 10 Yale.
- Last year, the Huskies finished ninth in the Ten Eyck team standings at the 2025 IRA National Championship Regatta as the 1V placed second in the Petite Final.
- BU and Northeastern square off for the Arlett Cup for the fifth straight season.
- The Terriers seek their first victory in the series since 2017 as the Huskies vie for a seventh win in a row in the 1V.
- Last spring on the Charles, Northeastern's 1V posted a +7.6 margin in 5:37.5 to lead three crews to victory.
- Saturday marks the 66th overall meeting.
- The Terriers trek to the Empire State for a dual race with Cornell on Saturday (April 11) at Fish Creek.
