Faulha Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Championships in Javelin

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Senior Owen Faulha of the Boston University track & field team qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the javelin throw on Wednesday.
Faulha—who entered the meet in the first of four flights and was seeded 46th of 48 throwers—used his first throw to reach 67.88m in the event and finish ninth overall, earning him a spot in Eugene, Oregon.
In the process of qualifying, Faulha's 67.88m throw broke his own school record. He is the first Terrier thrower in the 21st century to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The Hardwick, Massachusetts native will compete for a national title on Wednesday, June 10, at Hayward Field in Eugene. The event is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. PT and 9:15 p.m. ET.
