Terriers Win Warrior Invitational to Kick Off 2026-27 Season

HAVERHILL, Mass. - The Boston University women's golf team withstood a late charge from tournament host Merrimack and went on to claim the titie at the season-opening Warrior Invitational on Tuesday at Haverhill Country Club.
The Terriers entered the round with a 13-stroke lead but the Warriors - on the strength of a 5-under round from medalist June Doerr - cut it to three late in the day before BU was even-par over the last two holes to secure a six-shot victory.
Four Terriers finished in the top 20 and that group was led by senior Amy Han who posted a 225 (77-73-75) to finished tied for fourth at plus-9.
Sophomore Sophia Zhang closed out with a plus-11 227 (75-78-74) to end up tied for seventh with classmate Wendy Li (76-75-76).Â
The best round of the tournament for BU belonged to sophomore Monica Wu, who carded an even-par 72 on Tuesday after hitting all 18 greens in regulation to finish tied for 10th at plus-14 (82-76-72--230).Â
Playing in her first colleigate tournament, freshman Tatiana Ang tied for 16th at plus-18 (75-81-78--234). Senior Hibiki Adachi played as an individual and finished tied for 20th with a 20-over 236 (81-74-81).
BU will return to action next Monday (Sept. 21) for the first two rounds of the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton.
