Dean of Students’ Office
In the Dean of Students’ office, you’ll meet staff committed to promoting your personal and academic growth and representing your concerns. We provide programming to engage students with the University and each other, assist students in need, and oversee the Division of Student Life. The Division of Student Life encompasses offices that advise student organizations, plan your orientation, help you find belonging, provide service to the Greater Boston community, oversee accommodations for students who need them, and set and regulate standards for student conduct.
Disability and Access Services
Provides services and support to ensure that students are able to access and participate in the opportunities available at Boston University. In keeping with this objective, students are expected and encouraged to utilize the resources of Disability Services to the degree they determine necessary. Although a significant degree of independence is expected of students, Disability Services is available to assist, should the need arise.
Office of the Ombuds
An independent, impartial, informal problem-solving resource. The Office maintains strict confidentiality and provides a safe place for you to have off-the-record conversations on issues related to life, work, or study at Boston University.
Sargent Choice Nutrition Center
We will help you gain the knowledge, skills, and strategies to meet your individual nutrition goals. Our recommendations are customized to meet lifestyle demands and food preferences. Learn how to plan healthy meals, stock a healthy kitchen, dine at your favorite restaurants, and modify cherished recipes.
Student Wellbeing
Student Wellbeing is a campus-wide initiative to support students' health and wellbeing during their time at BU. They believe that everyone deserves to feel good and that how students feel matters. Their collective goal — as administrators, faculty, and staff — is to inspire students to feel fulfilled each day, despite the ups and downs of life on campus.
The Howard Thurman Center
At the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, students are united in their desire to learn about themselves and one another. Together, they come alive in pursuit of greater understanding through intellectual discourse, active listening, and friendship. The center advances Dr. Thurman’s philosophy of self-exploration and community building through meaningful and creative shared experiences.
The Office of Diversity & Inclusion
The Office of Diversity & Inclusion leads the University’s efforts to advance a culture that values and supports diversity, equity, access, and inclusion across our campuses. BU also has a new LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center to foster community among students with programming and resources.
The University Service Center
The University Service Center is the place to call when you have questions or problems that don’t seem to be a good fit with any of the more specialized offices at the University. Staff can point you in the right direction or help you to figure out the best way to address a complex or multilayered situation.
Equal Opportunity Office
The Equal Opportunity Office supports a safe, inclusive BU, offering fair, impartial guidance to help you navigate concerns around access, discrimination, or harassment. The office works to ensure that faculty, staff, and students can work and study in an environment free from harassment and discrimination.

Umbrella student health group overseeing a number of services on campus, including the three listed below:
Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS)
CAPS provides assessment, short term counseling, some medication management, intermittent treatment, and help with referrals to local clinicians for longer term treatment.
Survivor Advocacy, Response & Prevention (SARP)
The mission of the Sexual Assault Response & Prevention Center (SARP) is to provide confidential care, support, and advocacy for victims of sexual assault, while simultaneously promoting awareness and prevention programs on campus.
Health Promotion & Prevention Services
Wellness & Prevention Services at Boston University aims to promote the physical and emotional well-being of students through comprehensive programming, campus-wide events, peer education, the sharing of accurate health information and resources, and providing consultation and care for students struggling with substance misuse.
