HOW IT HAPPENED
- Humphreys was tested in just the second minute, diving to her left to stop a Great Danes shot from 18 yards out.
- The first Terrier shot came in the ninth minute, as senior Ava Maguire darted in from the left flank before releasing her shot, but it was easily turned away by the UAlbany keeper.
- In the 20th minute, a long ball into the Great Danes box met the foot of a UAlbany player, who fired a shot squarely into the post.
- The Terriers' first goal of the 2026 season came in the 32nd minute, when Slott unloaded a left-footed shot from 25 yards out to beat the Great Danes' goalkeeper.
- Then just five minutes later, Prouty put a shot on target off a short corner. Osterman cut it off before it reached the net and turned around to blast the ball home.
- BU pounced on another chance less than two minutes later as Prouty turned on the jets on the left side of the field to pass a defender before her left-footed shot pinged the right post and crossed the goal line, solidifying a 3-0 lead in the 39th minute.
- UAlbany had a chance to score in the 49th minute as a dangerous shot came from near the penalty spot, but it glanced off the crossbar and went high for a goal kick.
- Schultz's first goal came in the 50th minute. She was in the box when a rebound was backheeled to her by freshman Elle Ceres. Schultz calmly poked the ball into the goal to add onto the lead.
- Seventeen minutes later, Schultz earned her brace. Senior Ciara Kennedy swung a free kick into the box and the ball met Schultz's knee, which guided it into the net.
- In the 90th minute, UAlbany broke through with a goal of their own from outside the box.
- BU outshot UAlbany 10-2 and had four corners compared to the Great Danes' 1.
- 23 of the 26 rostered Terriers saw action in the contest.
- Schultz led the team with four shots and both shots on goal found the back of the net.
- Senior Helene Tyburczy played 84 minutes, the most of any Terrier field player.
- The last time the Terriers scored five or more goals in a non-conference game was in 2003, when they shut out UMass 5-0.
- Humphreys made her first career start and recorded her first career save.
- Ceres' assist in the 50th minute was her first career point.
- After missing all of the 2025 season due to injury, Schultz notched her first career multi-goal game and tallied her first goal since Oct. 5, 2024.
- Slott's goal was the third of her career.
- Prouty's performance was her first collegiate game with a goal and an assist
- The Terriers continue their road trip with a contest at Fairfield on Thursday (Aug. 20) with a 6 p.m. kickoff.
