Doleckova joined head coach Bruce Chalas' staff after an impressive collegiate career. She was instrumental in the program winning the 2019 Patriot League Championship, finishing fourth in that event to earn First Team All-Patriot League honors and help BU earn its second-ever trip to an NCAA regional.
"I am thrilled that Katerina has accepted the offer to assume the role of volunteer assistant coach," Chalas said. "She had a tremendous career at BU, both in the classroom and on the golf course. Katerina exemplifies the meaning of combining being a top student and top competitive collegiate golfer. Many times last year I would consult with her regarding team matters, either prior to a tournament or during practice rounds. Little did Katerina know, but she was actually "coaching" all last year! The addition of her to our coaching staff will give our team an advantage this spring."
A native of Louny, Czech Republic, Doleckova was playing the best golf of her career during the spring of 2020 before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She recorded a career-low score of 220 (74-69-77) in each of her final two tournaments, including at the River Landing Classic, where she tied for seventh in what was ultimately her final collegiate competition. Doleckova finished the year with a stroke average of 75.90, her lowest as a Terrier.
In addition to her great play on the course, Doleckova also shined in the classroom. She was a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar (2019, 2020) and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll each of the last three years. Doleckova graduated from Sargent College in December 2020 with a degree in health science.
