Erika Silva, a former First-Team All-American at Northeastern University, enters her third season with the Terriers.

Previously, Silva played two seasons of professional hockey with the Brampton Thunder of the National Women's Hockey League (2002-04). Prior to her professional career, Silva was a member of the U.S. Women's National Select Team at the 2002 Four Nations Cup and also spent time coaching at Jim Thomson's Powerhouse Hockey School (Toronto), the USA Hockey Girls' Select 16 Festival, the Jon Elkin Goaltending School and the U.S. Olympic Development Team in the Midwest region.

In 2001, Silva finished her collegiate playing career holding 11 different NU goaltending records, six of which still hold true as she currently is either No. 1 or 2 in 13-of-14 categories. In 98 career games for the Huskies, Silva recorded a sparkling 1.89 goals-against average and .927 save percentage with 61 wins and 20 shutouts. As a senior in 2000-01, the Middletown, R.I., native was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Goalie of the Year and was a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, given annually to the top women's player in NCAA Division I college hockey.
