For the 10th straight year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.
Coming in at No. 7 is the men's rowing's team after its Eastern Sprints and IRA performances.
After a successful dual racing season that saw the Terriers defeat Brown for the Michalson Cup for the first time since 2011 and arch rival Northeastern to win the Arlett Cup for the third-consecutive year, BU headed to Worcester, Massachusetts, to compete in the Eastern Sprints Championships.
At Sprints, BU advanced all three boats to the grand finals, won bronze in the 2V8 grand final and finished fourth in the varsity eight grand final, missing a bronze medal finish by two tenths of a second.
As a team, BU finished with 26 points, good for fourth place overall. The fourth-place finish tied the 2013 Terriers for the program's highest finish at Sprints.
Three weeks later the Terriers traveled to Sacramento, California to compete in the IRA National Championship Regatta. On the first day of the three-day regatta, BU easily advanced all four if its boats to the semifinals. During day two, BU's second varsity eight boat and varsity four boat both advanced to the grand finals.
On day three, the Terriers were led by a sixth-place finish in the second varsity eight grand finals and a fourth-place finish in the varsity four grand finals. As a team, BU tallied 133 Ten Eyck team points to place sixth out of a field of 24 schools and ahead of teams from Brown, Cornell, Wisconsin, Dartmouth, Syracuse and Northeastern.
The sixth-place team finish matched the 2014 Terriers as the highest finish ever for the program at IRAs.
