Boston University

By unanimous opinion that she is one of the greatest athletes from the university's Sargent College, Barbara J. Hall competed and excelled in five sports. The 1945 graduate gained high acclaim for efforts in archery, baseball, basketball, canoeing, and field hockey. However, her achievements didn't end there as she was an outstanding student whose academic proficiency placed her on the Dean's List.

She entered the teaching profession after graduating while continuing her athletic endeavors. As a Boston Women's Lacrosse Association player, she captained the U.S. Women's Touring Team in 1957. In field hockey, she played at the Northeast and National Tournaments. B.J. was also a member of the Massachusetts Women's Squash Racquet Association and, as further testament of her incomparable versatility, became the New England Fencing Champion despite undertaking the sport for just a short time. She even competed in the National Fencing Tournament.

Receiving her Master's Degree from Boston University in 1954, B.J. has been involved in countless professional organizations over the years. Her distinguished accomplishments are directly attributable to her ability, competence and leadership qualities that have brought great honor upon herself and Boston University.
