Box Score

NEWTON, Mass. - The Boston University field hockey team had its four-game win streak snapped on Sunday afternoon in a 5-1 loss at Boston College at Newton Field Hockey Complex.

The Terriers opened the scoring in the final minute of the opening quarter on a goal from graduate student Caroline O'Brien before the Eagles scored the lone goal of the second quarter to create a 1-1 deadlock at the half.

BC took the lead midway through the second quarter and added another goal soon after before tacking on two more in the fourth.

HOW IT HAPPENED

BU's press created the game's first goal as graduate student Maddie Hudson broke up a pass and senior Nicole Lauro collected the ball and found O'Brien, who penetrated the circle from the right side and dribbled to the near post before sneaking a shot through the legs of BC netminder Charlotte Kramer at the 14:05 mark.
BC got an equalizer on the first corner of the game, as Klara Mueffelmann sent in a rebound in the 20th minute following an initial save by sophomore Anna Wilson.
In the third quarter with BU down a player on a yellow card, the Eagles took a lead they would not relinquish.
Laila Rosenquest converted a penalty stroke in the 38th minute before Ava Meehan made it 3-1 just over two minutes later.
Mueffelmann notched her second goal of the game early in the fourth quarter
A corner goal by BC's Lilly Pergola in the 51st minute created the 5-1 final.
