DULUTH, Minn. (December 28) -- Junior forward Carl Corazzini (Framingham, Mass.), who notched his second career hat trick against Ferris State and came back with a goal and an assist against host Minnesota-Duluth, was named to the Silverado Shootout All-Tournament Team tonight (December 28th).
Corazzini was the lone Terrier on the team, which featured two players from tournament champion Ferris State, two from Minnesota-Duluth, and one from runner-up Northeastern. The tournament MVP was freshman forward Chris Kunitz from Ferris State.
The honor for Corazzini was bittersweet, as the Terriers lost both games in the tournament. They bowed to Ferris State, 4-3, on Monday night (December 27th) and to Duluth, 8-5, on Tuesday night (December 28th).
Corazzini has been on a scoring tear of late with six goals in his last four games, seven in his last six games, and eight goals in his last eight games. He has been one of the team's most consistent point producers this year with at least one point in 14 of 19 games. Overall, he has a team-leading 10 goals, while he is tied with senior Tommi Degerman (Helsinki, FIN) and sophomore Dan Cavanaugh (Springfield, Mass.) for the team lead in scoring with 20 points.
