Radio-TV Schedule Set For Terrier Hockey
October 13, 2000 | Men's Ice Hockey
Once again, the Boston University hockey team will be receiving more live TV and radio coverage than any collegiate hockey team in the East. The Terriers will open their 2000-2001 season this Saturday night (October 14th) with a 7:00 p.m. home game against RPI, and the game will be carried live on WHUB-TV Channel 66 as well as on the expanded B.U. hockey radio network.
The game on Channel 66 will be one of 10 Terrier hockey games that will be carried live on the station. In addition, two men's basketball games will also be carried live. Don Orsillo, who broadcast the Pawtucket Red Sox games and filled in for Sean McDonough on a handful of Red Sox games that were carried on Fox, will do the play-by-play of the Terrier games. Mike Eruzione will do the color.
Ted Sarandis will do the play-by-play for the two men's basketball games, and Ronnie Perry, Jr. will do the color.
In addition, all Terrier hockey games, both home and away, will be carried live on four radio stations, an increase of one over last year. The new station is WSMN-AM (1590) in Salem, NH. The flagship station again will be WROL-AM (950). The other stations on the network are WCRN-AM (830) in Worcester, WPLM-AM (1390) in Plymouth and, for the first time this year, WSMN-AM (1590) in Salem, NH.
Bernie Corbett will handle the play-by-play responsibilities, as he will be in his 16th season as the "Voice of the Terriers." For the eighth season, Tom Ryan, the captain of the 1987-88 Terrier hockey team, will do the color.
