Terriers Dominate UNH In Season-Opening Meet

The Terrier men's swimming and diving team won 11-of-15 individual events and both relays en route to an impressive 179-102 win over host University of New Hampshire in the team's season-opening meet on Saturday (Nov. 4).
Five B.U. swimmers won two events each, while the sixth swimmer-senior Gregory Voloshin (Warwick, NY) won the one-meter dive with a score of 273.45. He finished second at three meters with a total of 280.80 points.
The dual winners included:
Junior David Rosado won both distance events-the 500 (4:55.46) and 1000 freestyle (10:12.57).
Senior Jason Ellow (Bath, PA) won the 200 individual medley (2:03.30) and the 200 freestyle (1:48.0).
Freshman Jay Toutant (Madison, WI) won both the 100 (:55.10) and 200 backstroke (2:01.73).
Junior Jeff Graves (Rockwell, TX) won both the 100 (:53:17) and 200 butterfly (1:58.64).
Finally, sophomore Jacob Jentzer (Bangor, ME) won both sprint events-the 50 (:22.55) and 100 (:48.34) freestyle.
The Terriers added 22 additional points by virtue of their winning both the 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.
They won the medley relays in the meet's opening event when Toutant, Graves, Jentzer, and senior Jason Walko (Erie, PA) were clocked in 3:38.08.
Then, in the meet's final race, Jentzer, Toutant, Graves, and sophomore Douglas Mark (College Point, NY) won the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:14.93.
