Terrier Men's Tennis Drops New Hampshire, 6-1

Senior Jon Mofsky won his singles match, 6-2, 6-0, as the Terriers defeated UNH, 6-1.

BOSTON - The Boston University men's tennis team defeated conference rival New Hampshire, 6-1, at B. U.'s Case Center courts on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The Terriers won two of three in doubles and took the doubles point, and took five of six singles matches.

Three of the singles matches went three sets, each time with the Terriers prevailing. Junior Geoff Wagner (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), playing at No. 1, dropped the first set against New Hampshire's Kevin O'Keefe, 4-6, before taking the remaining two sets, 6-1, 6-0. Senior J. P. Debbink (Oconomowoc, Wisc.) won in similar fashion, losing the first set against Tim Clement, 3-6. Debbink then took the next two sets, 6-3, 6-3.

B. U. senior Noel Moossa (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) defeated UNH's Brett Teolis at No. 2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. Seniors Jonathan Mofsky (Miami, Fla.), playing at No. 3, and Jason Vinoles (Port Washington, N. Y.), at No. 4, each won their matches in two sets.

The only doubles loss of the day for the Terriers came in the No. 3 match, in which UNH's Teolis and Clement downed Vinoles and freshman Nick Ganias (Worcester, Mass.), 8-0. Sophomore Jimmy Arakanji (Mexico City, Mexico) fell to Mark Prather at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-1.

The Terriers (1-0) next play in the Brown Invitational in Providence, R. I. on Sept. 20-22.
