2005-06 Boston University Athletics TV/Radio Schedule

BOSTON - All of Boston University???s 2005-06 regular-season men???s ice hockey games, both home and away, will be broadcast live on the radio, while a minimum of 18 games will be televised. Five different TV stations will air Terrier hockey and two radio stations will combine to broadcast the 34 regular-season games.

Of the 18 TV games, four will be carried live on the New England Sports Network, the regional sports television network, as part of a BU-NESN package, the only hockey package that exists between NESN and a university.

Entering its 22nd season, NESN has carried college hockey games since its inception, but all packages previous to last year had been with a conference. Last season marked the first time that NESN carried a package for a school and the relationship will continue throughout the 2005-06 Terrier hockey season.

Among the games NESN will air is the showdown with reigning back-to-back national champion Denver on Nov. 25, in addition to home games against Hockey East rivals New Hampshire (Nov. 11) and Maine (Jan. 14).

NESN, which will be carrying the Beanpot Tournament on Feb. 6 and 13, will also be televising a Hockey East package, which includes three additional Terrier games.

Four other stations will air at least one Terrier game during the season, including CSTV, CN8, Cox Sports Television and Adelphia. CSTV, the national cable service that carries only college sports events, will televise the Terriers??? game at Boston College on Dec. 2, while the new ESPNU will televise the BU-UNH game on Feb. 18.

Further, CN8, New England???s Comcast Network, will air games at Massachusetts (Nov. 12), Harvard (Nov. 22) and Northeastern (Jan. 7); Cox Sports Television in Rhode Island will cover BU???s games at Providence on Nov. 18 and Dec. 8; and Adelphia will broadcast a weekend series at Vermont (Feb. 24-25).

Two radio stations, Boston???s WTTT-AM (1150) and WBUR-FM (90.9), will share the 34 regular-season games. Of the 34 games, 23 will be on WTTT-AM, while the other 12 will be on WBUR-FM. The live broadcasts will be available through the BU Athletics website, goterriers.com.

Bernie Corbett will handle the play-by-play responsibilities, as he will be in his 21st season as the ???voice of the Terriers.??? For the 13th season, Tom Ryan, the captain of the 1987-88 Terrier hockey team, will do the color commentary.

In addition, Terrier men???s ice hockey can always be heard on WTBU, BU???s student radio station (89.3 FM, 640 AM), which is accessible online at wtburadio.org.

BU opens both the regular season and Hockey East play on Saturday (Oct. 15) versus Massachusetts Lowell at Agganis Arena at 7:00 p.m.
