On Sunday, Sept. 25, the Boston University men???s ice hockey team, cheerleaders and mascot Rhett attended Walk F.A.R. for NAAR, an event held by the Family and Friends of Autism Research.

The hockey team autographed posters and handed out finish-line prizes, while the cheerleaders cheered on walkers and the friendly BU terrier, Rhett, greeted and entertained the crowd of 10,000 at Artesani Park in Brighton as it prepared for the 3.1-mile walk. Over $650,000 was raised for autism research that morning and with money still coming in, the organization expects the total to exceed $800,000. All proceeds will benefit the National Alliance for Autism Research.
