Hayley Hamada Field Hockey Senior
After helping the No. 19 Boston University field hockey team close out the first half of the regular season with a 3-0 road victory over No. 15 Virginia, senior Hayley Hamada (Escondido, Calif.) has been named the goterriers.com Student-Athlete of the week.
Hamada had a hand in each of the Terriers' three goals, setting up classmate Sarah Shute's tally in the 15th minute before adding a pair of second-half goals.
The senior now has 12 points on the year on five goals and two assists. As a junior, Hamada had a breakout season, finishing second on the team in points with 22, including a team-high eight assists.
The win over the Cavaliers was BU's fifth straight, and the team will look to extend the streak when it opens its conference schedule with a home contest against New Hampshire on Friday (Sept. 28).
