BALTIMORE, MD. - Junior Sarah Dalton was named one of Inside Lacrosse's Top 20 Players in D-I Lacrosse, as was announced in the magazine's most recent issue. The Terrier midfielder was ranked 15th on the list. Last season, Dalton led the team with 52 goals, also adding seven assists for 59 total points - good for second best on the team.
"Dalton was a force last year," Inside Lacrosse said, "posting 52 goals. Those numbers were good enough to rank fifth on BU's single-season points list and first among America East players in '07. Her versatility was also apparent: she broke BU's record for draw controls with 56. Though a few pieces of last year's offense graduated, putting more pressure on Dalton, her game sense and midfield speed will make her a commodity for the surging Terriers."
In 39 career games, Dalton has 85 goals, along with 13 assists, for 98 points. The Cornwall, Vt., native also has 84 draw controls and 63 ground balls.
Dalton and the Terriers kick off their season Feb. 27, playing Massachusetts at Amherst. The team's 2008 schedule includes games against three-time defending NCAA champion Northwestern on March 9, Vanderbilt on March 12, Yale on March 19 and Dartmouth on April 23 - all four of which are away games.
