March 28, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse
BOSTON — The Boston University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 16-3 victory over the American Eagles on Saturday (March 28) at Nickerson Field.
The Terriers (6-6, 2-2 PL) never trailed on their senior day and after the first quarter, led by at least three goals the rest of the way, only allowing one goal in the second half. American (2-9, 1-3 PL) struggled to build a rhythm, as they turned the ball over 17 times and BU won the draw control battle 13-7.
Multiple Terriers shined offensively, as junior Izabella Amonte (5 goals), senior Elle Stevenson (4 goals), junior Tessa Geddes (3 goals, 1 assist) and senior Alyssa Mozi (1 goal, 3 assists) all posted at least four points. Seniors Jayne Feeney and Leah Hodgins and junior Reilly Walsh all scored a goal as well.
In cage, junior Natalie Aiosa stopped five shots and allowed just three goals. The Terriers stonewalled American and the effort was led by sophomore Kaitlyn Barton, who pisted five ground balls, two caused turnovers and eight draw controls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Feeney opened the game with a free-position goal at 13:50.
- Geddes took a pass from Cutair as she was cutting through the arc and scored with 6:43 left to make it 2-0.
- That started a run of three Terrier goals in 1:28 as Stevenson scored on a free position and Geddes potted another tally off the ensuing draw control to give BU a 4-0 lead with 5:15 left in the first.
- After American got on the board, Mozi dodged from her feeder position and rolled around the crease for her second goal of the season to put BU up 5-1 entering the second.
- The Eagles scored 45 seconds into the second quarter before going scoreless for the next 44:05 of game time.
- Amonte didn't begin her five-goal barrage until the second, when she was fed by Mozi and fired home a goal at 3:21. Then Geddes completed her first-half hat trick with an unassisted tally just 41 seconds later and BU entered the half leading 7-2.
- Scoring twice in the first 3:04 of the third, Amonte quickly had her hat trick off assists from freshman Avery Cutair and Mozi.
- Stevenson scored on a player-up opportunity off a free position with 6:18 left in the third, then tallied another goal after no one slid over to defend her with 5:07 remaining. At that point, the Terriers led 11-2.
- The Amonte show continued in that same quarter, as she scored in transition after a Geddes caused turnover with 1:43 left, then with a minute left took another pass from Mozi, who fed Amonte for goals three times in the win.
- Entering the fourth quarter leading 13-2, BU kept the pressure on with three goals in the frame.
- Walsh notched her goal on a free position, then Stevenson took a pass from Geddes in transition and launched a shot into the goal to make it 15-3 with 8:23 remaining.
- With 3:44 left, senior Leah Hodgins—playing in her first game since Feb. 28—scored on her senior day.
- American scored its third goal with 10 seconds remaining, but the BU win was solidified.
- Three goals are the fewest the Terriers have allowed in a game since Feb. 16, 2019, when they gave up just two to Hartford. They're the fewest BU has allowed in a Patriot League contest since April 23, 2016, when they toppled Army West Point 14-3.
- Amonte's five goals push her to 52 career goals in just 28 games. That mark is also a new career high for the Humarock, Massachusetts native.
- Stevenson's four goals push her career points total to 99 points, leading all active Terriers. It was her eighth multi-goal game of the season.
- Barton's five ground balls are a career high.
- Mozi more than doubled her career points total in the win, with three assists and four points being a new career high for the Royersford, Pennsylvania native.
- The Terriers will travel to Annapolis, Maryland for a game against Navy on Saturday, April 4.
- Opening draw is set for 11 a.m.
