March 21, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse
BALTIMORE — The Boston University women's lacrosse team fell, 13-8, to the No. 22 Loyola Maryland Greyhounds on Saturday afternoon at Ridley Athletic Complex.
The Terriers (5-6, 1-2 PL) scored a goal to cut the deficit to just two goals with 4:20 remaining, but a lengthy review saw the goal overturned and with a three-goal lead, the Greyhounds (6-4, 2-1 PL) pulled away down the stretch.
BU opened the game with the first two goals, courtesy of junior Tessa Geddes, who finished with a hat trick. The Greyhounds would respond with a six-goal run before the Terriers could find the net again. BU cut the lead to 6-4, but Loyola Maryland scored with under a minute to play until halftime and regained a three-goal lead. From there, the Greyhounds would keep the Terriers at least three goals away for the remainder of the game.
Along with Geddes' three goals, freshman Karina Harrison scored twice and senior Elle Stevenson, senior Jayne Feeney and junior Alex Cutone all tallied a goal apiece. In cage, junior Natalie Aiosa made nine saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geddes began the game with a goal, dodging to the right side of the arc before firing it into the top corner.
- She followed that up with another goal, this time dropping a defender on a juke and going left before beating the Greyhound keeper with 11:32 to play in the first.
- The Greyhounds' first two apparent goals were disallowed after a crease violation and dangerous shot, but they then went on a 6-0 scoring run over 6:57 of play and led 6-2 with 13:22 left in the second quarter.
- BU answered with 3:48 left in the first, as Stevenson went to work late in the shot clock, curling around the right side of the arc and sneaking a shot through from a tough angle.
- Harrison tallied her second career goal, this one coming off a free position with 2:29 remaining in the second.
- The Greyhounds would score with 48 seconds remaining and take a 7-4 lead into the half.
- Loyola Maryland would score the first two goals of the third quarter, but Aiosa made three huge saves, including two on free-position chances, to keep BU close.
- With 1:14 remaining, the Terriers opened their second-half account as Harrison netted a free-position goal with a fake toward the center of the goal and dodge to the right.
- Then just 26 seconds later, Cutone took a feed from sophomore Reilly Walsh, came around from the X and buried a goal as BU went into the final quarter trailing 9-6.
- After the Greyhounds struck first in the fourth, Geddes started out near the restraining line and flew past multiple defenders en route to her third goal of the game.
- Then the Greyhounds scored on a free position, but Feeney got her goal with 7:15 left to make it 11-8 Loyola Maryland.
- With 4:20 remaining, the Terriers earned a free position as the shot clock wound down. Stevenson scored, but after an appeal by the Greyhounds and a long review by the officials, the goal was stricken from the scoreboard and the Terriers had to retake the free position with freshman Avery Cutair on the arc. She missed and with momentum on their side, the Greyhounds went the other way and scored back-to-back goals to ice the game.
- Geddes became the first Terrier to reach 30 points this season and now sits at 31.
- Senior Siri Hodgins caused two turnovers, marking her sixth straight game with multiple CT.
- BU went 3-for-3 on free positions, while the Greyhounds went 2-for-7.
- The five-goal margin was the closest margin of defeat against the Greyhounds since 2017.
- The Terriers will next host American on Saturday, March 28 at noon for senior day at Nickerson Field.
