Versprille Joins Women's Lacrosse Staff

BOSTON—The Boston University women's lacrosse program has hired Jake Versprille as an assistant coach ahead of the 2027 season, head coach Lauren Morton officially announced on Wednesday (July 15).
Versprille arrives to Commonwealth Ave. after serving two seasons as an assistant coach at Brown in Providence, Rhode Island. On College Hill, Versprille helped the Bears reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, earn their highest-ranked win in program history and reach their highest-ever national ranking of No. 17 in 2025.
He coached one USA Lacrosse Second Team All-American while at Brown as well as three IWLCA All-Northeast Region honorees.
Versprille spent the 2024 campaign at Tufts as an assistant coach, pacing the program to a 16-4 record and an NCAA quarterfinals appearance. He served as an assistant at Bryant in 2023.
Before Bryant, Versprille spent the previous five years as an assistant with the MIT men's lacrosse team. During his time in Cambridge, he coached a USILA First Team All-American, three Academic All-Americans, and numerous All-NEWMAC selections. In 2022, he helped lead them to an 8-0 conference record, 17-1 overall record, and an appearance in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. He also coached for six years at Franklin High School, where he helped lead the team to three Division I section championships and a Massachusetts Division I state runner-up finish.
A four-year student-athlete at Springfield College, he helped lead the Pride to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Versprille graduated in 2016 with a degree in sport management.
