
Men's Tennis Sweeps Holy Cross, 7-0

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Boston University men's tennis team concluded the fall portion of its 2008-09 schedule by sweeping Holy Cross, 7-0, this past Saturday at the Holy Cross Tennis Courts. First-year head coach Rick Edelmann earned his first victory with the Terriers improving to 1-1, while the Crusaders dropped to 1-3 on the season.
BU won every singles and doubles match without losing a single set as only one Crusader managed to win more than six games in a contest.
In singles, Tim Sichler (No. 3) and Regis Chang (No. 6) earned 6-0, 6-0 victories over Dan Phelan and Tom Steinert, respectively, Jeff Chudacoff (No. 1) earned the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Matt Wierzel. Miron Nissim (No. 2), William Kring (No. 4) and Stefan Toubia (No. 5) also proved victorious in their matches.
In doubles, Toubia and Alessio Gallarotti started things off at No. 3 with an 8-3 win over Chris Das and Kevin Leggio. Chudacoff/Nissim and Sichler/Kring won the No. 1 and 2 matches by an 8-6 margin.
The Terriers will next appear on the courts in 2009 when they face off against Davidson on Friday, Jan. 23.
