
DeMeo Named ITA Scholar-Athlete

BOSTON - Graduated senior Phil DeMeo was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete this week.
DeMeo graduated cum laude from the College of Communication with a degree in Mass Communication. Although primarily a doubles specialist, he did see time at the third through sixth singles spots this season. DeMeo partnered with Giulio Gallarotti, Miron Nissim and Charles Weinstein in doubles and finished with a 6-12 overall record.
In order to qualify for the award, athletes had to be varsity letter winners with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for the current academic year and be enrolled in their present institutions for at least two semesters.
