After scoring a pair of big goals for the men's ice hockey team in their win and tie against Harvard and Cornell, respectively, sophomore forward Chris Connolly has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
In a 6-5 slugfest against Harvard on Tuesday, Connolly helped the Terriers even the score at 3-3 in the second period with an assist on a Joe Pereira power-play goal before netting the game-winning tally with 2:18 remaining in overtime.
The sophomore provided more late-game heroics on Saturday against Cornell in the Red Hot Hockey game at Madison Square Garden. Down 3-2 with less than a minute remaining and the goalie pulled, Connolly made a heads-up play on a loose puck in the Cornell crease and knotted the score with 51 seconds left in regulation. Connolly is now tied with Zach Cohen for the team lead in goals with five.
