
Warsofsky Named to 2010 U.S. National Junior Team

Warsofsky will participate in the World Junior Championship beginning Dec. 26. - Sophomore defenseman David Warsofsky of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named to the 2010 U.S. National Junior Team, as announced by USA Hockey on Wednesday. Warsofsky will join 21 of the nation's most talented young players when Team USA competes at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship on Dec. 26, 2009-Jan. 5, 2010, in Saskatoon and Regina, Sask.
Warsofsky, a former captain of the U.S. National Under-18 Team, will be making his first appearance at World Juniors and will be the 44th Boston University player to participate in the tournament.
Sophomore forward Vinny Saponari and freshman defenseman Max Nicastro were on the team's preliminary roster and took part in last week's training camp in Grand Forks, N.D., but did not make the squad.
