BOSTON - Senior Amarachi Umez-Eronini has earned America East Player of the Week accolades, the conference announced Monday. It marks the second time in three weeks the senior guard has garnered the distinction and third consecutive week a Terrier has picked up the prize.
Umez-Eronini's overtime heroics at Binghamton on Wednesday night protected the Terriers' umblemished conference mark as they moved to 12-0 in the America East. She scored 11 points, including the last-second game-winning lay-up in overtime, and dished out a conference-best 11 assists for her second double-double of the season and the league's first points-assists double-double in 2008-09. Umez-Eronini also brought down eight rebounds and earned a game-high five steals.
The first-place Terriers are set to take on second-place Hartford on Tuesday (Feb. 24) at Chase Arena on CSN. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
