BOSTON – Continuing its run in the 2026 Patriot League Championship, the No. 8-seed Boston University women's basketball program travels to top-seeded Navy for the quarterfinal round on Monday (March 9). Opening tip from Alumni Hall is set for 7 p.m.

BU (11-19, 6-12 PL) has reached the quarterfinals in every season under fifth-year head coach Melissa Graves. A win would mark a return to the semifinals for the first time since 2024.

Navy (21-7, 16-2 PL) is hosting its Patriot League quarterfinal after garnering its fourth Patriot League regular season championship. The Mids enter the contest having won 14 of their last 15 games.

The winner of Monday's contest, the latest to tip off among the four quarterfinal affairs, will face the winner of No. 4-seed Lehigh and No. 5-seed Loyola Maryland.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU dispatched No. 9-seed American in the first round, 69-58, on March 7 at Case Gym.
The Terriers outlasted the Eagles, who nearly erased a 12-point BU lead, by ending the game on a 9-0 run in the final 3:47.
Senior Anete Adler scored 17 of her team-leading 21 points in the second half.
Sophomore Hildur Gunnsteinsdóttir dropped 13 points while freshman Kate Allard set personal bests with 12 points and six rebounds.
BU is 5-4 in the Patriot League quarterfinals since joining the conference in 2013.
The Terriers registered 44 paint points in the first-round victory over the Eagles. BU is 6-2 this season when scoring at least 38 points in the paint.
Monday is BU's first road game since Feb. 18. The Terriers have not lost an away matchup since Feb. 7.
The Terriers lead the Patriot League in field goal percentage (43.9 percent), three-point percentage (34.5 percent) and blocks per game (4.0).
Adler's 1.81 blocks per contest is good for 27th in Division I. Junior Inés Monteagudo Pardo has nailed 44.1 percent of her three-point shots, 10th in the nation.
No. 8-seeds are 3-23 all-time against the No. 1-seed in the Patriot League quarterfinal round. Those wins occurred in 2007, 2013 and 2021.

SCOUTING NAVY

Navy captured its first Patriot League regular season title in 12 years while setting a program mark for Patriot League victories.
The Midshipmen were previously the No. 1-seed back in 2013-14.
Navy swept the league's postseason major awards, the second program ever to do so and first since Army West Point in 2012-13.
Zanai Barnett-Gay was once again the Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Zoe Mesuch was the Rookie of the Year under the Coaching Staff of the Year, led by head coach Tim Taylor.
The Mids lead the Patriot League with 69.8 points per game, 15.3 assists per game and 39.1 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY

• Monday marks the 26th all-time meeting between BU and Navy.
• The Midshipmen sport a 14-11 advantage in the rivalry, winning four in a row.
• BU and Navy have never met in the postseason.
• Navy swept the regular season series, posting a 77-64 decision in Boston on Jan. 31, 2025 before winning at home, 57-47, on Jan. 28.
• Adler was the lone Terrier to score in double figures across both matchups, dropping 46 total points.
