HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU roared out to a 9-0 start in the first three minutes. McLaughlin made two layups, Semenova stuck a foul-line floater and Monteagudo canned a left-wing triple.
- Sophomore Hildur Gunnsteinsdóttir found Semenova for a layup to increase the lead to 14-4 before Bucknell went on a 6-0 run that freshman Kate Allard halted with a turnaround jumper in the high paint.
- The Terriers replenished the 10-point lead in the second quarter with Monteagudo's third triple of the game and a putback layup from McLaughlin at the 7:07 mark for a 26-16 advantage.
- From there, however, Bucknell scored 16 of the final 18 points in the frame to go up 23-28 at halftime. Hardy contributed seven points while Zemitis buried a trio of threes, including a buzzer beater at the end of the first half.
- Hardy made a layup to start the third quarter, but BU countered with a 12-0 burst with help from two Monteagudo triples to retake a 40-34 advantage four minutes into the stanza.
- Anna Kunzwiler brought Bucknell within one possession on a straightaway three-pointer at the 1:29 mark. BU remained ahead by one possession, 48-45, heading to the final period.
- Coskun grabbed a rebound for a putback bucket, only for Semenova to bury a left-wing three on the next possession. Isabella Casey and Monteagudo then traded triples, the latter creating a 54-50 Terrier lead with 7:29 on the timer.
- Semenova and McLaughlin teamed up to score BU's final 12 points in the game's last 4:13. The former made a pair of layups on passes from Gunnsteinsdóttir and McLaughlin to coax a Bison timeout as BU went up 60-52.
- McLaughlin picked off Kunzwiler near midcourt and banked home a layup with 2:38 remaining to replenish BU's double-digit edge, a margin they did not relinquish.
- BU made 53.3 percent of its shots, including a 9-for-11 (81.8 percent) in the first quarter.
- Monteagudo accounted for six of BU's eight three-pointers as the Terriers nailed 40 percent of their distance tries.
- For the game, Bucknell shot under 33 percent.
- Rebounds favored the Terriers, 31-27, despite 13 Bison offensive caroms.
- McLaughlin and Gunnsteinsdóttir combined for 12 of BU's 16 assists.
- Paint points favored BU, 28-20.
- Semenova's 21 points matched her career high from her performance at Lafayette on Jan. 6, 2024.
- Monteagudo reached the 20-point plateau for the first time in her career. She made 11 of her 17 three-point shots (64.7 percent) in two games this week.
- McLaughlin also tied her personal best in points from Dec. 1, 2024 against Rider. In two games this week, she averaged 14.5 points, seven assists and 5.5 rebounds with just three total turnovers.
- BU went 3-0 in Patriot League games in the state of Pennsylvania with road wins over Lehigh, Lafayette and Bucknell.
- The Terriers also snapped a five-game losing streak to the Bison, though Bucknell remains ahead in the all-time series, 16-8.
