Following seven first-place finishes during the indoor track & field season, freshman Nikko Brady was named the Boston University's women's track & field most valuable player.
Brady began her Terrier career with two wins at the Jay Carisella Invitational, capturing the 55-meter hurdles (8.15) and long jump (5.70m) titles. Both scores qualified Brady for the ECAC Championships in those events as she was named the conference's top performer of the week.
The New Castle, Del., native opened 2010 with a win in the 55-meter hurdles at a multi-team meet at BU's Track and Tennis Center. She then set meet records in both the 60-meter hurdles (8.34) and long jump (6.05m) at the Battle of Beantown, with her time in the hurdle race provisionally qualifying her for the NCAA Championships.
Brady continued her breakout rookie campaign at the America East Championships, where she once again placed first in the hurdles and long jump. She won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.04 and registered a 5.79m mark in the long jump.
She concluded the indoor season at the ECAC Championships, where she produced top-five finishes in both the 60-meter hurdles and long jump. Brady's accomplishments landed her on the America East All-Conference Team.
