Smith Named Track Athlete of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Senior Jada Smith of the Boston University women's track & field team was named the Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week, the League announced Tuesday afternoon.
Smith competed in four events at the South Florida Invitational over the weekend. She notched the PL's top time this season in the 100m dash, clocking an 11.57 mark. She ran the 200m dash in 23.88 seconds, good for third in the PL this season. On top of her individual events, she helped break the school record in the 4x100m relay as the Terriers clocked a 45.49 mark, which leads the Patriot League so far. She also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay, helping BU post a 3:41.90 time, ranking second in the League this season.
This is Smith's first outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor.
Smith and the Terriers will next head to the UConn Northeast Challenge behinning Friday, April 17 at UConn.
