
Omonzane Highlights PL All-Academic Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Senior Peace Omonzane of the Boston University track & field program was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the outdoor track & field season and seven Terriers were named to the Academic All-Patriot League team.
The Terriers landed five student-athletes on the women's Academic All-Patriot League Team and two student-athletes on the men's Academic All-Patriot League Team.
Peace Omonzane – Sr. – Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Academic All-Patriot League
Omonzane swept the horizontal jumps for the second straight year at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships, posting a long jump mark of 6.32m and a triple jump mark of 13.09m to win the events. She tallied 20 total points and her triple jump mark was the longest at any PL Outdoor Championships, all conditions.
On top of that, Omonzane is one of just two female Patriot League athletes to sweep the horizontal jumps in back-to-back years. She is the only female PL athlete who has swept the horizontal jumps to not win Field Athlete of the Meet honors since the award was presented beginning in 2000. Her season-best marks of 6.35m (long jump) and 13.09m (triple jump) rank 15th and 21st in the NCAA East Region, respectively.
In the classroom, Omonzane has achieved a 3.87 GPA and is majoring in Psychology. This is her second Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor after also winning the award during the indoor season. It marks the second straight year the Terrier women have boasted the indoor and outdoor women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Adrienne Buettner-Cable – Jr. – Academic All-Patriot League
Buettner-Cable picked up a silver medal in the 10000m at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships, clocking a time of 34:34.79 to claim the medal. Her personal-best time of 33:57.51 ranks 56th in the NCAA East Region and is sixth all-time in BU history.
The Des Moines, Iowa native has a 3.99 GPA and is majoring in health science. This is her third overall Academic All-Patriot League honor (cross country 2024, indoor 2026, outdoor 2026).
Ijeoma Ezechukwu – Sr. – Academic All-Patriot League
Ezechukwu tallied 20 points at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships, winning gold in the 100m dash with an 11.67 time, taking silver in the 200m dash with a 23.69 time and helping the Terriers claim silver in the 4x400m relay with a 3:40.53 mark. Her 200m time of 23.69 is second all-time at BU and it was under the meet record time.
Ezechukwu currently has a 3.86 GPA and is majoring in psychology with a public health minor. This is her second outdoor Academic All-Patriot League honor and her third overall (outdoor 2025, indoor 2026, outdoor 2026).
Micah Perry – Jr. – Academic All-Patriot League
Perry earned his second individual Patriot League Championships medal at the outdoor championships, finishing with silver in the 110m hurdles after running a time of 13.92 seconds, which ranks 52nd in the NCAA East Region.
Perry boasts a 3.86 GPA and is majoring in business administration. This is his second Academic All-Patriot League honor after earning indoor honors this season.
Luke Riordan – So. – Academic All-Patriot League
Riordan notched two bronze medals and totaled 12 points at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships. He finished third in the hammer throw with a 58.70m throw and earned bronze in the discus with a 47.47m toss.
Riordan is a health studies major and sports a 3.69 GPA. This is his second overall Academic All-Patriot League honor after earning the award indoors as well.
Ellie Roan – Sr. – Academic All-Patriot League
Roan was the only women's thrower to score in three or more events at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships and totaled 22 points, the most by any women's field athlete at the Championships. She finished with a 62.35m mark in the hammer throw to win gold, a 48.80m mark in the discus to win bronze and a 14.81m mark in the shot put to earn bronze.
Roan's season-best and BU program record hammer throw mark of 62.52m ranks 14th in the NCAA East Region this season. She is just the second Patriot League athlete to win three consecutive hammer throw gold medals at the outdoor championships.
In the classroom, Roan sports a 3.35 GPA with a major in public relations and a minor in events management. This is her second career Academic All-Patriot League honor after winning the award indoors this season.
Iman Roka – So. – Academic All-Patriot League
Roka tallied 14 points at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships, winning the 100m hurdles with a 13.51 time and finishing fifth in the long jump with a 5.75m mark. Her 100m hurdles mark is a facility record.
The Vienna, Austria native currently has a 3.30 GPA and is majoring in business administration.
