
Roan, Omonzane Wrap 2026 Seasons at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. — Seniors Ellie Roan and Peace Omonzane of the Boston University women's track & field team wrapped their 2026 seasons at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday.
Roan finished 18th in the hammer throw, launching her implement 62.72 meters on her second throw to earn All-America Honorable Mention status. Roan's first throw went 61.71m and her third throw traveled 61.72m.
A Sebastopol, California native, Roan finishes her career with six Patriot League titles, including three hammer throw titles, the all-time school record in the hammer throw (64.22m) and was the first female Terrier thrower to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships since 2003. No other Patriot League woman has ever won three hammer throw titles and three weight throw titles in a single career.
Later in the night, Omonzane took 21st in the long jump with a 5.92m mark, also earning an All-America Honorable Mention. She jumped furthest on her second attempt and jumped 5.87m on her third attempt.
The Brampton, Ontario, Canada native finishes her senior season with her first bid to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She won four Patriot League titles in 2026, earning gold in the long jump and triple jump at both the Patriot League Indoor Championships and the Patriot League Outdoor Championships. She is also a two-time Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was named Boston University's Woman of the Year at the 2026 Scarlet & White Awards.
