BOSTON - Beginning a three-meet homestand, the Boston University men's swimming & diving team rolled past Binghamton, 158-68, on Saturday afternoon at the Competition Pool.

The Terriers posted the top result in all 13 events but more importantly saw the return of women's senior diver Bailey O'Brien to the pool. Recipient of the 2011 ECAC Award of Valor, she took a break last fall to begin undergoing cancer treatment for melanoma.

The Putnam Valley, N.Y., native learned that the cancer was in full remission during the summer and returned to campus in August to work on returning to the pool and completing her degree. She was able to compete in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events on the women's side.

For the men, freshman Andy Vazquez led the way by winning both the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle races with times of 47.80 and 1:45.47, respectively.

In the relay events, senior Daniel Kempf swam the third leg of the victorious 400 medley relay (3:30.16) and the final leg of the 400 free relay (3:08.89). Freshman Cole Puchi competed in the fourth and first legs, respectively.

Sophomore Andrew Guinther won the 200 breast at 2:10.93 after racing in the 400 medley relay. Members of BU's top 400 free relay team, freshman Connor Stuewe and senior Jackson Hill won the 200 back (1:53.22) and 50 free (22.00), respectively.

In the diving events, sophomore Jared Scheck won the 1-meter with a score of 282.07, while junior Jake Frankenfield placed first in the 3-meter at 252.75.

Other race winners included sophomore Tim Bouvier (1,000 free), sophomore Jeff Thomas (200 IM), freshman Brandon Funk (200 fly) and sophomore Knox Anderson (500 free).

The Terriers will next host Stony Brook and Maine on Saturday, Nov. 5. Action is set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
