
Swimming & Diving Teams in the Hunt at Terrier Invitational

After the first day of the Terrier Invitational, the men's swimming & diving team sits in third place while the women's squad is in fourth place.
BU is hosting the three-day event at the Competition Pool, with 11 other schools vying for the top spot along with the Terriers. Yale is atop the leaderboard on the men's side, as the Bulldogs collected 288 points. BU has 173, good for third place. Columbia leads the women's teams with 235 points. BU is in fourth with 121 points.
The men's team got off to a fast start, as the Terriers won the first event of the day, the 200 freestyle relay. Daniel Kempf continued the Terriers' winning ways, as he placed first in the 50 free. He was one of five Terriers with individual wins, as Alec Pokornowski and Tim Bouvier each won their respective heat in the 500 free, while Nik Astashinsky and Andrew Guinther each won their heats in the 200 IM.
The women's squad also had success in the 200 IM, as Katie Radin finish first in her heat of that event. Amanda Schmitz had a top-5 finish in the 500 free, and Kara Zebrowski and Avery Visser finished fourth and fifth in their respective heat of the 200 IM.
Both teams will be back at the Competition Pool on Saturday afternoon to try and improve their standing and be in line for victory when the event concludes on Sunday night.
