CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After dropping a combined three games in both singles and doubles against Hartford, sophomore Josh Friedman of the Boston University men's tennis team has been named the America East Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
The award marks the second for the Terriers this season after junior Michael Kopelman received the award back on April 5.
Friedman dropped just two games in a 6-1, 6-1 singles victory at the top spot against Hartford. He also won his doubles match in the No. 1 slot with Kopelman against the Hawks, 8-1.
The sophomore helped the Terriers secure a 7-0 victory to close out their regular-season schedule with a 10-10 record, the team's best performance since finishing the 2006-07 regular season with a 12-9 mark.
BU will next compete this weekend at the America East Championships, held on the campus of Yale University.
