
Terriers Look to Extend Winning Streak Against UNH on Thursday

The Boston University women's basketball team looks to remain undefeated on its home court and continue its five-game winning streak when the Terriers host New Hampshire on Thursday, Jan. 19, at Case Gym. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Terriers enter the game holding the top position in the America East after defeating Albany, 58-54, on Monday night in a battle of two previously undefeated teams in conference play. BU improved to 12-6 on the season and 5-0 in the America east.
Junior Mo Moran led BU with 17 points while adding five assists and three rebounds against the Great Danes. Senior Alex Young posted her third-straight double-digit scoring performance by adding 13 points. Fellow senor Caroline Stewart nearly had a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points while junior Chantell Alford netted eight points and five rebounds.
Alford leads the team with 12.2 points per game while Moran averages 11.2 ppg and Young is just behind her with 10.9 ppg. As a team, the Terriers rank second in the America East with 59.0 points per game. BU has held its opponents to a .360 field goal percentage, which is first in the conference.
The Wildcats arrive in Boston with a 10-7 overall record and a 3-2 mark in conference play. New Hampshire has won its last two contests, including a 69-63 overtime victory at Vermont on Jan. 14, followed by a 63-53 triumph over Stony Brook on Monday night. Maureen Magarity is in her second season as head coach at UNH.
Junior forward Morgan Frame leads the Wildcats with 17.7 points per game after missing the first eight contests due to NCAA transfer regulations. Senior forward Denise Beliveau ranks second on the team with 13.6 points per game while pulling down a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Kelsey Hogan is third on the Wildcats with 10.2 points per game. As a team, UNH averages 58.6 points per game, which ranks third in the conference, while the Wildcats' three-point field goal percentage (.351) and free throw percentage (.737) are tops in the America East.
BU holds a 35-29 advantage in the all-time series with New Hampshire that dates back to Jan. 21, 1978. The Terriers have dominated the series lately, winning 16 of the last 20 meetings, including the last eight match-ups.
BU remains at home for its next game, as the Terriers host Hartford Sunday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m. Sunday is Hometown Heroes Day. The towns of Methuen, Mass., and Topsfield, Mass., are invited to come out an support their hometown heroes Rashidat Agboola (Methuen) and Caroline Stewart (Topsfield) from the women's basketball team.
