
Rashidat Agboola Named AE Player of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Sophomore Rashidat Agboola of the Boston University women's basketball team earned her first America East Player of the Week award as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Agboola led the Terriers to a pair of victories last week and helped BU win the America East regular season title. BU defeated UMBC, 61-56, on Wednesday night before posting a 57-52 victory at Saturday to claim the conference crown and No. 1 seed in this weekend's America East tournament.
The forward averaged a team-high 18.0 points per game last week while also leading the Terriers with 9.5 boards per contest. She shot 57.7 percent (15-of-26) from the field and added 1.0 steals and 1.0 steals per game.
The Methuen, Mass. native set a career-high with 24 points against UMBC to go with 11 rebounds for her team-leading eighth double-double of the season. She also added three blocks an assist and a steal while shooting 10-of-16 from the floor.
In Saturday's regular-season title-clinching win at Hartford, Agboola was second on the team with 12 points while adding eight rebounds, a steal and an assist.
Agboola leads BU with 8.6 rebounds per game and ranks third on the team with 10.2 points per game. She is second in the conference with a 47.2 field goal percentage and also ranks second with 1.3 blocks per game.
