
Women's Swimming & Diving Falls at Massachusetts, 155-145

AMHERST, Mass. – The Boston University women’s swimming team fell to Massachusetts, 155-145, in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon at Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool.
Freshman Lauren Dixon recorded the first win of the day for the Terriers in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.36 and later was BU’s top finisher in the 100 breaststroke with a second-place finish in 1:09.15.
Sophomore Celia Simpson paced the Terriers in 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.57 to place first while junior Courtney Grace delivered another victory for the Terriers in the 100 backstroke (59.65). Simpson later placed second in the 100 butterfly (58.65), ahead of junior Avery Visser who took third (58.95).
Senior Kendra Cheng claimed victory in the 200 backstroke (2:04.98) and finished second in the 200 IM (2:09.31). Sophomore Karla Ferrara was the top finisher for the Terriers in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:27.89 for second place.
Sophomore Mika Spencer led BU in the 500 freestyle with a win in 5:01.91 and also placed second in the 100 freestyle (53.9). Classmate Stephanie Nasson finished in third (5:07.19) in the 500 freestyle after placing second in the 1000 freestyle (10:17.23).
Senior Chelsea Glincman earned the highest finish for BU in the 1m diving event with a score of 211.80 to place fourth. Glincman later took second from the 3m board with a score of 242.92.
The BU 200 freestyle relay team of Dixon, Spencer, junior Katie Kenney and freshman Isabella Olivares closed out the meet with a victory in 1:38.22.
The Terriers return to action next Saturday (Oct. 19) when they will compete in an exhibition meet against Brown and Rhode Island in Providence, R.I. The competition is set to begin at 11 a.m.
