BOSTON - The Boston University women’s basketball team makes its final America East road trip on Thursday (Feb. 21), when the Terriers travel to Albany, N.Y., to take on the University at Albany Great Danes. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at SEFCU Arena and the game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Thursday marks the 26th meeting between the Terriers and the Great Danes with BU holding a 19-6 all-time advantage. However, Albany has won three of the last four meetings, including a 57-50 decision on Jan. 23, which stands as BU’s lone conference loss.

The game will be a battle of two of the nation’s top 10 defenses, as Albany ranks second in Division I with 47.5 points per game while BU is 10th in the nation by allowing 50.6 ppg. The Terriers boast the conference’s second-best scoring offense with 61.8 ppg while Albany is tops in the league with 67.8 ppg.

The Terriers, winners of their last six games, enter Thursday’s matchup with a 22-4 overall record and a 12-1 mark in America East action to sit in second place in the conference standings. BU will look to avenge its only loss of the conference season, which came against Albany on Jan. 23 by a margin of 57-50.

Senior Chantell Alford continues to lead the America East with 15.9 ppg while junior Rashidat Agboola (11.7 ppg) and senior Mo Moran (10.3 ppg) also average double-digit scoring performances. Agboola leads the conference with 9.1 rebounds per game and has pulled down double-digit boards in 12 games this season. Moran is also tops in the conference with 6.1 assists per game.

As a team BU is converting 40.1 percent of their shots from the field and 35.0 percent from beyond the arc while limiting opponents to a 34.3 field goal percentage.

Albany sits in sole possession of first place in the conference standings with a 12-0 record in conference play and a 21-3 overall record on the season. The Great Danes are riding a 13 game winning streak into Thursday’s game and have not lost since a 71-68 defeat by Sam Houston State on Dec. 20.

The Great Danes are shooting a league-best 44.8 percent from the field and 37.0 from the 3-point stripe while limiting opponents to a 31.6 field goal percentage.

Ebone Henry ranks second in the conference with 14.3 ppg while Megan Craig contributes 10.3 ppg and Lindsey Lowrie chips in 10.0 ppg. Julie Forster is second with 8.3 rpg while Shereesha Richards adds 9.5 ppg off a league-high 60.3 field goal percentage.

BU will play its final two games of the regular season at home, and will host UMBC Saturday (Feb. 23) at Case Gym. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the Terriers will honor their four seniors, Chantell Alford, Jacqueline Kuczynski, Mo Moran and Kristen Sims, in a pregame ceremony.
