
Golf Team Competes at Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Boston University golf team continued its spring season on Monday and Tuesday at the 16th Annual Pinehurst Challenge hosted by the College of Charleston on the No. 6 Course at the Pinehurst Resort.
BU finished the two-day, three-round tournament in 19th place with a total of 989. The Terriers improved their team score each round and knocked six strokes off their second-round total for a final-round score of 325, which ranked tied for 16th.
Sophomore Kristyna Pavlickova led BU with a 54-hole score of 240 (82-78-80). She was one of two Terriers to break 80 during the tournament, as freshman Emily Tillo opened with a team-best 79 in the first round. Tillo finished second on the team with a score of 245 (79-86-80). Pavlickova, Tillo and sophomore Flor Canedo all carded an 80 on Tuesday; Canedo concluded the tournament with a score of 248 (86-82-80). Freshman Maddy Silverman (256) and sophomore Christina Patracuolla (279) rounded out the BU contingent.
The Terriers sank 15 birdies at Pinehurst to bring their total to 20 this spring. They will be back in action on April 12 at the Columbia Roar-EE Invitational in Suffern, N.Y.
